Аннотация: The subject of this article is the dynamics of change in the Russian society's trust in the Russian Orthodox Church in the period from 2009 to 2022. The article analyzes the data of the largest sociological services in Russia, studying the polls of the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (WCIOM), the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) and Levada Center* to trace the trends of fluctuations in the level of trust in the Russian Orthodox Church over the specified period of time.
Along with studying the data of mass sociological surveys, it is noted that it is necessary to assess trust not only through sociological surveys, but also through in-depth interviews. This allows to identify to a greater extent the individual characteristics of respondents and their religiosity, which makes it possible to determine the true attitude to the Church, rather than the declared solidarity with a public institution with ties to the state.
The study is based on the use of open sociological data and their comparative analysis, on the comparison of statistics and socio-political context.
The article traces the connection between the dynamics of trust and the socio-political processes taking place in the country, as well as with the social work of the Church itself and its activities against the background of various scandals, public discussions and the problem of the fight against the pandemic COVID-19.
Trust in the Russian Orthodox Church is subject to significant fluctuations, closely linked to the current socio-political agenda. Trust assessment should be conducted comprehensively, using quantitative and qualitative methods, in order to obtain a more complete and objective picture of Russian society's attitude towards the Church as a social institution.

Аннотация: Предметом исследования данной работы является религиозный фактор в электоральном поведении москвичей. Цель исследования заключается в оценке мотивации политического выбора и участия электората в избирательной кампании 2022 года в Москве с точки зрения религиозного фактора. Нами были рассмотрены аспекты электорального поведения, значимости религиозного фактора, проведена характеристика выборов муниципального самоуправления в городе Москве. Основная аналитическая база статьи была собрана в результате проведенного в августе 2022 года социологического опроса, данные которого были получены при дистанционном опросе посредствам социальной сети «ВКонтакте», а также через личные опросы респондентов. В качестве источника для формирования отношения к кандидату у избирателя нами были установлены как личные религиозные убеждения избирателя, которые формировали его отношение к кандидату, так и декларируемая религиозность самого кандидата, влияющая на его имидж. Наше исследование позволило составить мнение о воздействии религиозного фактора на политические симпатии электората. Зачастую политический выбор зависит от сформированных религией этических и нравственных представлений, с помощью которых происходит оценка программы и имиджа кандидата. При этом электоральное поведение (проблема участия/неучастия) избирателя не находится в зависимости от его религиозности. Мы выражаем надежду на продолжение наших исследований для дальнейшего понимания ценности религиозного ресурса в создании мотивации политического участия у электората.
Abstract: The subject of the study of the influence of the religious factor in the electoral behavior of Muscovites. The purpose of the study is to assess the motivation of political choice and the participation of the electorate in the 2022 election campaign in Moscow from the point of view of the religious factor. We have considered aspects of electoral behavior, the significance of the religious factor, and conducted a characteristic of municipal self-government elections in the city of Moscow. The main analytical base of the article was collected as a result of a sociological survey conducted in August 2022, the data of which were obtained through a remote survey via the VKontakte social network, as well as through personal surveys of respondents.
The voter's personal religious beliefs, which formed his attitude to the candidate, as well as the declared religiosity of the candidate himself, affecting his image, were established as a source of forming attitudes towards the candidate. Our research allowed us to form an opinion on the impact of the religious factor on the political sympathies of the electorate. Often, the political choice depends on the ethical and moral ideas formed by religion, with the help of which the program and the candidate's image are evaluated. At the same time, the electoral behavior of the voter is not dependent on his religiosity. We hope to continue our research to further understand the value of a religious resource in creating motivation for political participation among the electorate.
