Information is now abundant so has it been polluted, thus this paper looked at how professional news production could be redefined to stay away from purveyors of misinformation but a safe space in this era. In order to achieve this, we examined three areas where information could be misappropriated through existing literature namely: headlines, online news editors and gatekeepers. We point out that headlines play a pivotal role in the information ecosystem where they can mislead the audience. This is done through the usage of catchy phrases to grab the attention of the audience. Further, we found out from the exciting research that some online news editors do not adhere to certain ethical standards and so they publish stories without verifying the veracity of the story. We noted that politicians have infiltrated the media space which has had a major negative impact on how the editor chooses his stories. The paper recommends that headlines should not only be written for the clickbait but they should be written so as not to mislead the audience while there should also be a limit on how political figures can influence the media agenda. Lastly, people who do not have a background in journalism to know the ethical implications of their news stories should be coached by an experienced journalist which would help minimise the information pollution we face today in this era of the internet and social media.

The pandemic and its consequences, such as isolation, strongly affect our everyday life. Even more work falls upon employees’ shoulders, with less opportunities of and that indicates an increased level of stress that they face nowadays. There is a connection between the increased number of emotionally burned-out workers and the isolation that COVID-19 causes. Thus, the subject of the present study is various factors that have a direct impact on the emotional state of young professionals and university students, as well as the possible consequences of emotional burnout. The article contains a detailed analysis of emotional and professional burnouts, as well as the consequences of the pandemic, which had a serious effect on the most vulnerable group — people employed in the field of intellectual work. They faced insurmountable stress at work/school even before COVID. In recent years, the situation has become even more serious: more and more people consider themselves to be emotionally burned out, and many think the pandemic is the cause. As part of this work, a survey called ''The Symptoms of the Job Burnout Questionnaire'' was conducted among students and young professionals of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The results of this survey, as well as effective methods of dealing with burnout during the pandemic, are detailed in the main part of the study.

The article presents the author's experience in developing an ESP (English for Specific Purposes) course for International Relations and Regional Studies majors and looks at the theoretical background for LSP course design. Choosing between terminological and discursive approach to course design in the sphere of humanities, the authors of the course favour the latter. The article also provides a quick look at an integrative approach to mastering English for Special Purposes offered by Western linguistics (CLIL-approach, Content and Language Integrated Learning), which implies combining the study of language and specialty discipline within the framework of a single course. Although the idea raises obvious interest, the authors of the course opt for a more traditional approach. The selection of texts for the course was subordinate to its main objectives. Since the course is centered upon productive competences – mainly speaking – its authors opted for a factual rather than analytical type of texts as more motivational and easier to discuss. Another chosen way to raise motivation is through the use of illustrations, video and audio materials. A second problem to address was that of authenticity and scientific objectivity of the selected texts, since some of the well-established views on the subject matter in social sciences may differ across countries. The number and types of activities are determined by specific needs of the learners. Particular emphasis is put on identifying and interpreting metaphors in the scientific discourse of humanities.

The problem of adequate presentation of English counterparts of Russian phraseological euphemisms in the “Russian-English Dictionary of Phraseological Euphemisms”, which is the first bilingual dictionary of euphemistic units in both languages is presented. Saving significational-denotational component of meaning of Russian phraseological euphemisms while translating them into English is crucial. The subject is possible ways of adequate transmitting of non-equivalent Russian transferred euphemistic units' semantics. The aim is to determine and present possible ways of translating non-equivalent Russian phraseological euphemisms into English: the right part of the dictionary entry is under study. The research methods are: the method of continuous sampling, the comparative method, the method of phraseological description, developed by A.V. Kunin, the method of analyzing dictionary definitions, component (seme) analysis. The novelty of the research: for the first time possible ways of translation of non-equivalent phraseological euphemisms which combine the characteristic features of both phraseological and euphemistic nomination are discussed. The results prove that there are four ways of translating non-equivalent phraseological euphemisms: with the help of translation loans, lexical, descriptive and combined translation, the last one being most important in providing the necessary information on the euphemistic orientation of Russian phraseological euphemisms. Conclusions are made about the necessity to include additional information about the features of the euphemistic nomination of Russian phraseological euphemisms in the form of descriptive translation into English, in contrast to the way of presenting the translation of non-equivalent phraseological units in existing bilingual phraseological dictionaries.

The article is devoted to modern trends in the art of wooden sculpture. The main question we ask in this article is how to draw the line between art and craft. The problem of distinguishing between these two terms is one of the important issues in the theory of art. Having examined the work of a number of contemporary artists creating in the genre of wooden sculpture, we come to the conclusion that the key difference between handicraft and artistic wooden sculpture lies in the desire of artists for naturalness, working with raw wood, fixing the natural beauty of the material, which is not so typical for craftsmen. Turning to modern environmental trends, we assume that the task of a contemporary artist and a person who wants to live in harmony with nature is to learn to see its beauty in nature, to guess it even in unsightly forms. The author states that the greatness of nature lies in its diversity, and today, in the era of overproduction, including oversupply of pieces of art, our common task is increasingly reduced to working with objects found in the environment that undergo minimal processing and, first of all, turn, manifest the beauty of nature.
